Forms of Arnis
PADDED SITCK
Padded Stick Arnis is a sparring event where two players use foam-padded sticks and wear full protective gear. The objective is to score points by landing controlled strikes on the opponent's legal target areas while using proper footwork, blocking, and counterattacks. The player with the highest score at the end of the match wins.
SINGLE LIVE STICK
Single Live Stick Arnis is a sparring event where each player uses one rattan (live) stick and wears the required protective gear. The goal is to score points by delivering clean, controlled strikes to the opponent's legal target areas while using proper footwork, blocking, and counterattacks. The player with the highest score at the end of the match wins.
DOUBLE LIVE STICK
Double Live Stick Arnis is a sparring event where each player uses two rattan (live) sticks and wears the required protective gear. KNIFE POINT
Knife Point Arnis is a combat event that uses training knives to develop precision, speed, timing, control, and defensive skills. Competitors use safe, approved training knives and wear the required protective equipment. The objective is to score points through clean, controlled, and accurate techniques while following the official competition rules and maintaining proper sportsmanship.
SAYAW OR FORMS
Sayaw & Forms Arnis is a traditional event where athletes perform choreographed routines using sticks, knives, or other traditional Arnis weapons. The performance demonstrates technique, precision, balance, coordination, speed, power, and control. Competitors are judged on accuracy, timing, presentation, and overall execution.
